Before I talk to you about hemp milk, I wanted to share a funny thing that happened to me yesterday afternoon. My day was totally slammed, one thing after another, all scheduled out throughout the day. At 4:30 I had a Dr. apt in Saratoga, and it takes me about 20 minutes to get there. As I headed out the door, I grabbed all the things I needed to take with me, forms, biz cards, my water bottle, my phone, a hoodie in case I got caught in the rain. I piled them all in one arm and, with the other, reached around the door to lock it and slam it shut.
Just as I did I stopped dead in my tracks. You know what I am going to say next, don’t you? That’s right, I never grabbed my keys.
So the next 10 minutes were a frenzy of me trying to remember where I put my spare key, calling friends and family in the area to see if I could catch a ride to make my apt, and subsequently being turned down.
Generally, I have the house locked up like Fort Knox, but the heat had been so oppressive the last few days that I remembered I had my bedroom window open. So I grabbed my step ladder from the garage, opened the window and catapulted myself into my bedroom.
Now for those of you who know me know that I am a raging Seinfeld fan. I have seen all the episode so many times that I can turn any real life situation we encounter into a Seinfeld episode.
Anyway, for those of you who watch, there was the episode where Kramer brought Jerry’s girlfriend up to Susan Lewis’s cabin to join the group but when he got there the cabin was locked and he had to climb in the window. As he came through he did this crazy flip somersault onto the floor.
If you can picture this, just put my face on him because that is how I came in. I tried to brace myself on the bed but it was on wheels! So the bed flew across the room as I hit it I flopped to the floor.
But at least I was in!
And just so you know, I made my Dr. apt with 2 minutes to spare. However, the Dr. ended up being 15 minutes behind and I had to wait anyway. Gotta love it!
So the moral of the story is if you lock yourself out of the house make sure you know where you hid the spare key!
