Today was a really great day on the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet.
I am on Day 9 which is the moderate carb day with density workout and HIIT.
As I mentioned yesterday, I made it through shake day with flying colors, well mostly. I was able to get all 5 shakes in me this week (vs only 3 last week) but had to add an egg in before I went to bed because I was hungry.
Today was a great treat. I actually ate something I rarely eat – A sandwich! Exciting? No. But I devoured it and enjoyed every second of it!
Here’s what I had to eat throughout the day:
Breakfast
- 2 eggs
- 1 protein shake made with water and natural peanut butter
Lunch
- 1/2 turkey sandwich with pesto mayo
- 1/2 salad with chicken
Later lunch
- 1/2 turkey sandwich with pesto mayo
- 1/2 salad with chicken
Dinner
- Protein shake made with coconut milk, spinach, natural peanut butter
If you think this is a weird day of eating then I’m with you. I didn’t have anything to eat at home so for lunch I went and bought the sandwich and the salad to get me through the day.
I didn’t feel like going back out for food for dinner so I just made a shake.
I did the dynamic strength training workout today in the morning like I usually do. After a few days break from the muscle soreness I was feeling a little sore again today. And I must have been wiped too because I never finished the second set of the third circuit of the workout. I was drained.
For the HIIT session I tried something a little different and did a combo of sprinting in the backyard and then hopping on my bike and doing a few intervals as well. After the intervals I took a ride around the hood because it was a really nice evening and I just didn’t want to have to go back in the house.
Oh, I also managed to mow my lawn as well!
Other than that no major insights or inspirations from today, just looking forward to the next time I can take a few measurements….just a few days away!

Hey Susan, Day 9 was yesterday for me and I love breakfast on this day because I can finally have some carbs!!! It seems like a lot of oatmeal but I am measuring everything out in grams with my food scale (I bought specially for the XFLD)! I am following the 25 day recipes pretty closely and changing it around by having maybe cycle 3 mod carb day on cycle 1 if that sounds better, etc.
I also had salmon for lunch! I love salmon and added some of my fish oil on top.
I ended the day with a spinach and turkey omelette! I had some home-made salsa to go with it that was super tasty but I think the green onion hurt my tummy a bit eating it at night.
I made it through the workout in the morning and then did a HIIT run in the afternoon and that killed my shins. I had to go online and do this shin splint remedy for those.
I wish we could do the weight-training with the Cardio all in one session. Joel sent me an email saying we should try and follow the plan as best as we can and by that splitting up the weight training from the cardio/HIIT.
Do you know if we need to re-calculate our macronutrients each week if we do lose weight? I haven’t read anywhere that we should but it we are losing weight it makes sense that we should recalculate.
Thanks again,
By the way Joel said someone set up a link to a facebook community page for the XFLD. Here it is: http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=121696194516485
