When it comes to losing weight, cleaning up your diet is a must.
After all, what you put into your body is the #1 factor (as much as 80-90%) attributing to how much fat you have.
That’s why I always say, no amount of exercise can make up for a crappy diet.
But what exactly do you need to do get your diet under control?
Here are 3 quick tips for you to get your diet on the right track and your subsequent fat loss moving in the right direction:
1. Get rid of all the junk in the house.
If it isn’t there, you can’t eat it. Period.
2. Educate yourself on which foods are actually good for you and which you should avoid altogether.
The food industry does a great job of making us believe something is healthy when it really isn’t. On the front of the box, it might say that something is “heart healthy” or “low in fat” but until you turn the box around and see what is on the ingredients list you’ll remain oblivious to the truth.
That’s why you need to rely on yourself and know which ingredients are harmful even though they are being touted as healthy, no one in the food industry is going to tell you the truth.
3. Aim for a nutrient combo of 50% carbs, 30% protein, 20% healthy fats at every meal.
This doesn’t mean you have to do some serious math every time you eat. Just think of your plate (your total meal) as 1 whole unit (100%) and divide the dish with half fruits and vegetables (not pasta and rice), 30% lean protein, and 20% healthy fats.
When you do it that way, there is no room for anything naughty to creep in!
