Hey, happy Monday!
Here’s a synopsis off all the great information I found last week about health, nutrition, and fitness from some of my favorite sites on the internet. I promise these will not disappoint!
Mark Sisson of Mark’s Daily Apple talks about 10 unnecessary, worthless, or dangerous exercises. Take a look at this list and see how many you’re still doing. If there are any, you obviously aren’t listening to a word I’m sayin’!
A new study shows that taking statin drugs along with your fast food meal may help ward off the imminent heart disease from eating a diet high in disgustingness. Gotta just love that. Hey, how about not eating that crap in the first place, and then you won’t have to take a chemical to keep you healthy! It just kills me how friggin’ lazy and self indulgent people really are.
Does it really do a body good? Calcium is now being blamed for causing prostate cancer. Pretty confusing too because if we just looked at the calcium intake in America, we could probably blame cancer on dairy consumption. But this study was done in Chinese men, and their calcium intake primary comes from non-dairy sources. Weird. And scary.
Ever heard of foam rolling? Well, if you want to be able to move when you’re 60 then you should start working in foam rolling into your daily workouts. Foam rollers allow you to do self message on body parts that get tight, take the most beating, and can really cause other movement issues in your body if they are unhappy. For example, when my hip flexors get tight, I actually start to overpronate my foot which has given me chronic shin splints. Once I loosened up my hip area I started feeling instant relief. Here’s a quick video on how to use a foam roller.
