Superbowl Sunday! What a great game! Whether you’re a Colts fan, Saints fan, or couldn’t care one way or another, one thing is for certain – most of us look forward to the commercials! OK, and maybe the half time show (enter eye roll here).
Now last night’s commercials didn’t exactly impress me but sometimes that’s what happens when you have high expectations.
But I’m always watching for bogus fitness products, pills, gimmicks, and fads that the media is trying to scam you into buying so I can make you aware of it. And what better night to be on the lookout!
So, Sketchers Shape Ups? A sneaker with a uniquely shaped sole that keeps some of the muscles in your legs working overtime while you are wearing them.
Their claim is that you can “get in shape without setting foot in the gym” and “shape up while you walk”.
Apparently you can firm up your leg muscles, reduce joint stress, improve posture, tighten abdominal muscles, strengthen your back, improve your posture and improve blood circulation, and using them will lead to weight loss and improved body composition.
Phew! That’s a lot of claims!
They even paid famous San Francisco 49er QB Joe Montana to testify that it has improved his core strength and eased joint pain since he is so beat up from playing football all those years.
Wow, is Joe hurting that bad for money?
Well, let’s say that I give them just a little lee way on the joint issues claims, but they only did one 6 week trial on people before making the claims but whatever.
What I will contest is that anyone can lose weight or improve their body composition from strolling around in a special sneaker.
I get so friggin’ mad when companies take advantage of the consumer’s lack of knowledge and fill their heads with all kinds of crap.
So, their claim that you can get in shape without setting foot in a gym would be false. The only one that can make that claim is me, because I actually offer you a research proven method to burn fat at home without setting foot in the gym.

My friends, the answer to successful fat loss does exist, but it does not rest in a sneaker.
