The Diet Solution Program – Day 14: Patience And Persistence In The Pursuit of Weight Loss

by Susan · 14 comments

Having patience and persistence while attempting to work towards any goal is absolutely essential, let alone when it comes to weight loss and Isabel Del Los Rios’s The Diet Solution Program.

I’m on day 14 in my review of The Diet Solution Program and if you haven’t caught all my updates you can do so by clicking here —> The Diet Solution Review

What a great weekend!

I was able to finish reading Born To Run by Christopher McDougall and read the entire book, The Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson. Both really great reads!

I also took the puppy for a walk both days and got to grill out with Scott resulting in several awesome summer meals.

Like I said, it was a great weekend!

And it was an even better Monday morning weigh in!

In the two weeks I have been following The Diet Solution Program I have lost 3.4 lbs!

That’s a very healthy and respectable 1.7 lbs/week!

While I am very happy that I have been successful on the program at this point, I was starting to get a little nervous last week, when I hadn’t lost anything more than the original 1.6 lbs I lost within the first few days of starting The Diet Solution Program.

I was just about ready to get discouraged but remembered how important patience and persistence are when it comes to trying to lose weight.

So many of us simply want to have our ideal body right now and we don’t give whatever efforts we are making towards those goals any significant time to work.

We just start jumping around looking for the next great weight loss pill or exercise gadget that claims to do things it really doesn’t.

All the while we abandon what we know to be true about weight loss and how we must stick to our action plan that is aligned with our goals and be patient and persistent for several weekes before we look to re-evaluate and make an adjustment.

So, that’s what I did. I stuck to The Diet Solution Plan and gave it time to work.

We made some really great summer meals this weekend so I thought I would share with you what I ate on Sunday based on my metabolic type as determined by a short Q&A provided in The Diet Solution Program.

  • 2 free range eggs from a local farm
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1/2 banana
  • handful strawberries

  • Leftover monster salad from dinner the night before with lettuce, spinach, carrots, celery, tomatoes, cucumbers, scallions, avocado, and almonds.

  • Plain greek yogurt from a local farm

  • Bison top sirloin roast (from www.grasslandbeef.com)
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 small red potato grilled with EVOO, salt, and parsley

And that was that!

Like I said, it was a great weekend!

I wonder what my third week on The Diet Solution Program will bring?

Patience and persistence will definitely be on the menu!
