Turbulence Training – Day 14-15: You Can’t Out Exercise A Bad Diet

by Susan · 16 comments

I’m back with my review from days 14 and 15 on Craig Ballatyne’s fat loss workouts, Turbulence Training.

If you have missed any of days 1-13 you can catch yourself up by clicking here —> Turbulence Training reviews.

What a great weekend!

It wasn’t a hot weekend, but the weather was warm, the sun was shining and we got to relax for once.

Day 14 was Sunday and a recovery day.

I basically spent the day finishing up Mark Sisson’s, The Primal Blueprint and Born To Run by Christopher McDougall.

Both great books and must reads for anyone interested in fitness and running.

We also grilled a great summer meal and I took the puppy for a few short walks to break myself into my new Vibram FiveFingers.

Day 15 is back to Workout A from the Turbulence Training fat loss workout, Buff Dudes & Hot Chicks.

I am now 2 weeks through this program, entering the start of my third week.

I’m feeling pretty good and can tell I have increased my strength with each passing workout.

Oh and have I mentioned that I am now down 3.4 lbs since starting Turbulence Training and following The Diet Solution Program?

Ha! Thought you would like to hear that one! I was pretty happy to see the scale read that this morning during my weekly weight in!

Lets me know that between following a great home fat loss workout program in Turbulence Training and eating more real foods that are right for my metabolic type (as determined by The Diet Solution Program) my efforts, patience, and persistence towards my goals is paying off and totally worth it!

And although I have done a great job in keeping up with my fat loss workouts, the truth is what I eat is way more important than the activity I do.

About 80% of my fat loss results (or lack there of) come from what I put in my mouth, not what activity I do.

Check out this silly little video Craig and his friends made comparing diet vs cardio:

In this video, Craig burns about 50 calories in the same amount of time his friend eats a burger and fries, and drinks a can of soda – that’s 1,000+ calories!

So, what’s the take away message here?

If you only do one thing to work towards your fat loss goals then it would have to be to drastically clean up your diet.

Then if you add appropriate fat burning exercise into your nutrition efforts then you just got yourself a whole lot closer the goal.

But as the video shows you, exercise cannot be the only thing you do when trying to lose fat.

You can’t exercise away a crappy diet. Period.

Until my next update, don’t be lazy!

Hi Juliet,

Thanks for the message. You are right, there is a lot of crap out on the internet regarding weight loss, fitness, and nutrition. Glad I could help you weed through some of the garbage.
