You know what the best part of the protein/depletion day is on the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet?
You got it – the next day is cheat day!
It’s day 15 for me on the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet and I am about to put my third cycle to bed.
Three down, 2 to go!
Today was, for the most part, totally fine. The good news is you get to eat real food and because your protein requirement is so high, the amount of food you get to eat is seemingly endless.
For the last two protein days I kept track of my protein grams religiously. For both of them, I could not quite meet my protein quota. I even tried having extra protein shakes to fill in the nooks and crannies but let’s face it, shake day pretty much puts the kibosh on any tolerance I may have had for a protein shake on a day I don’t need to have them.
So, today, I kept track of what I ate and how many protein grams I thought I was consuming but I really wasn’t a “protein nazi” about it. I ate all protein all day long and I am positive by the end of the day I still came up a little short. But I certainly didn’t starve myself or feel deprived of food (except ice cream of course, which is on my to do list for tomorrow).
Here’s what I ate today:
- 3 slices bacon and 2 eggs
- turkey and cottage cheese
- protein shake with unsweetened chocolate almond milk
- more turkey
- steak, salad, and cottage cheese
Probably just a little shy of where I needed to be. But I still feel good about it.
BTW, the steaks I made were OUTSTANDING! I got them from a local farm who raises the cattle themselves with no hormones, antibiotics and feeds them grass not grain and other ground up dead animals and ammonia to kill E. Coli (if you don’t know what I am talking about I highly recommend you read either Fast Food Nation, Food Inc., or the Omnivore’s Dilemma).
My point is, if you can find a good local source for your meat your taste bud will surely be rewarded!
My local farm also has raw milk, eggs, cheese, and the best yogurt you will EVER taste in your entire life!
My workouts today was a lactic acid strength training routine and a 30 minute cardio.
Nothing fancy today, just did the strength training routine at home while I caught up on my “stories” and then went out for a bike trek later on in the evening.
Oh, and 2 dog walks around the hood for Buddy and then we got to do a little tick extraction for him. Got him early though!
Scott got home from work late, not until about 8 pm so we didn’t have our gourmet steaks, which I grilled up to perfection, if I do say so myself, for when he got home.
I’m a good girl friend, aren’t I?
So, still feel like I’m cruising through the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet pretty well now.
I have adjusted to everything, I know what to expect, I know going without food for a day won’t kill me (and there are people around the world a hell of a lot worse off than that), and my muscles are getting used to taking a beating.
I still think that one day off from strength training on day 10 totally saved me physically and mentally. I was seriously drained.
But guess what? Tomorrow will be another great day! Cheat day!
I’m starting early and I’m going BIG!
