Xtreme Fat Loss Diet Day 18

by Susan · 15 comments

I made it through another fasting day on the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet, no thanks to ANYONE in my life!

What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger right?

Well, then I should be pretty damn strong today. I should be able to overcome anything today. I should be able to. I should.

I should be grateful that Scott, my contractor boyfriend, is so busy these days. Winters can be very slow and this spring season he has more work than he can handle, and he has been recruiting my help on the weekends to help him with jobs.

As you read yesterday on day 17, Scott had me working 6 hours on a fasting day in the blazing sun BEFORE I got my three workouts in for the day.

Well, today (with warning this time) he had me pulling up carpet for a hardwood floor install he has starting tomorrow.

Been loving our quality time together lately! :-)

I’m not complaining because I don’t like to help. I really do. It’s just hard to really do anything when you have to drink 5 protein shakes throughout the course of the day, and you leave the house at noon and won’t be back until 8:30 at night.

I was able to have a shake at about 7:30 am and then after I worked my a** off at about noon. BTW, I drank this one in the car on the way to my nieces birthday party.

But the hours in between the shakes was a minor nightmare.

1000 square feet of carpet to rip up with the deadline of 11 am. No problemo.

Problemo: the carpet padding underneath was totally glued at ALL of the seams! I literally had to scrape it off with a flat edged shovel. I think I scraped for about 2 hours straight before Scott took the shovel to do the last bedroom.

I had blisters on my hands, my lower back hurt, my forearms hurt, and I have a rib in my upper back that acts up once in awhile, and it felt like it was sitting a little outside of its socket, which was very irritating.

Oh, and I was so ready for a shake…..

ABout 15 trips out to the dumpster later, we finally raced home to shower and get to the party.

As I mentioned, I made my shake on the way out the door and drank it on the way. I thought by waiting until the last minute I would be “full” and therefore wouldn’t let the tempations of all the goodness of a kid’s party would tempt me by.

I was wrong.

Snowcones, popcorn, candy, giant marshmallows, cheese, liquor…….I passed it all up.

I ate carrots and celery while Scott housed a burger and a hot dog.

After about 2 hours though, I was ready for another shake but didn’t have one. So, I ate 2 bunless hot dogs.

I was pretty disappointed with that but I guess with all the fun crap they had there it totally could have been worse. I was ready to go home and have a shake (I counted the hot dogs as one my my shakes just so I didn’t go overboard on calories).

But we had to go up to the lake first to help Scott’s parents put the dock in the water so they can launch the boat next week.

Oh, and they had dinner all ready for us! Now, don’t get me wrong, this was so nice that they made a great dinner, but I wasn’t supposed to eat real food today and I had already messed up once.

And I couldn’t very well sit there and watch them eat.

So, I filled my plate with chicken and green salad. There was also bread (which I skipped) and a pasta salad.

Scott’s Mom makes killer pasta salads and on any other day my plate would have been covered with it. But I took one scoop so I wouldn’t be rude and tried to minimize the pasta and pick out some shrimp, broccoli and cauliflower she had in there. Actually did a good job all things considered.

I figure I was within my limits but never had my 5th shake of the day just to be sure.

I hate going off plan, it makes me very uneasy.

As for the workouts today, I never got a chance, nor had the desire to do them. I busted a** for 3 hours with that shovel this morning so I counted it.

And as of the time I close my eyes tonight, I am going to wipe the slate clean and start fresh again tomorrow.

Forgive myself, move on, persevere.

See you on my update for day 18 on the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet, moderate carb day. Looking forward to more food.

It was very reassuring to read your account of the 4th shake day, which I am struggling with right now. It makes me realize that yes, I can do this. I had forgotten that we can have free veggies on the shake day.
And I’m getting compliments, so that is an incentive.
Thanks for sharing with us.

I bought some coconut milk the other day also. Haven’t had time to try that yet though. There is a recipe for a vanilla coconut smoothies on the bottle though, so maybe for cheat day! Hmmm…

Finished one day of the Detox and it’s going great! I think I really needed to do this! The bathroom is my friend again!

Had a good shake day! This was the day the bathroom issues really started because I hadn’t gone since the cheat day and after eating all that food, I think I needed some help.

I bought some frozen spinach and added that to most of my shakes. Since it’s frozen you can’t really taste it and since it’s one of the free veggies, I dont feel bad about eating it! I had my fav Oatmeal and Cinnamon shake in the morning with some strawberies, then a strawberry banana one, and then a pineapple one. For my fat smoothies I had the Peanut Butter and jelly one. I ate a small piece of chicken just to get my fish oil down. I love my Almont peanut butter. And I also bought some Almond milk from the health food store to try it and I love it!

I also started taking a detox liquid: Depurativa Antartico and I bought some Tibetan tea which is comes with 90 bags (alll herbs) to help clean my insides out!) And also to help with the bathroom situation!

I always use unsweetened almond milk in my smoothies…sometimes chocolate! It is so great but I never really drink it on it’s own. I also found unsweetened coconut milk which is also good in smoothies but not on its own. Let me know how your detox goes.
