Xtreme Fat Loss Diet Day 19

by Susan · 16 comments

What a glorious day on the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet!

It’s day 19 and and the moderate carb day of cycle 4. I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and it makes me want to sprint to the finish line!

Today was another weird eating day. It was SO unusually hot here in upstate NY for this time of year that I think it actually suppressed my appetite. Except for a few bites of almond butter before bed, my last meal was at 3:30 pm……just no desire to eat until it cooled off.

Here’s what I ate today:

  • oatmeal with almond milk
  • banana
  • strawberries
  • protein powder

Normally, oatmeal doesn’t make me as happy as it does on moderate carb day – and it made me REALLY happy!

  • Turkey sandwich

  • Green salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, black olives, and chicken

Snack right before bed:

  • 2 tbs almond butter

This was my attempt to get a little protein and fat in for the day, never actually ate those 2 protein and fat meals I should have had.

My workouts today were pretty good, did the full dynamic workout, which I think is my favorite workout of the entire cycle, and did 15 minutes of kettlebell swings.

BTW, I’m getting so good and strong from kettlebell swings that I now have to use the two I have and swing them both so I have enough weight to do a good workout. I guess it’s time for a 30 pounder.

So, I am about to finish up my 4th cycle on the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet and start my 5th and final cycle. My plan is to go absolutely all out with this cycle and be relentless in pursuit of my goals.

With that, I was thinking about what I was going to do when the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet was over. My gut feeling is that I will be well on my way to meeting my fitness goals but most likely won’t be quite there yet. I am going to want to do something to keep the momentum going.

There are a ton of options for me to choose from ranging from diet plans to exercise plans to diet and exercise plans.

I could even stick with my own home workouts fitness plan, Ultimate Home Workouts.

So, I thought I would list out some possible programs to jump into after XFLD is complete (in no particular order):

Cheat Your Way Thin (CYWT) – Joel Marion’s original fat loss diet, the deal is pretty much the same as in the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet except it is drawn out from a 5 day cycle to a 7 day cycle (another shake day and moderate carb day is added). Meal plans are included. Click here for more information on Cheat Your Way Thin.

The Diet Solution Program- Isabel Del Los Rios lays everything you need to know about nutrition out for you in The Diet Solution Program. All you do is take a short metabolic quiz to determine your metabolic type, determine your daily caloric needs and then you’re off! Meal plans are included. Click here for more information on The Diet Solution Program.

Final Phase Fat Loss – John Romaniell0 shows you how to lose those last 5, 10, 15 pounds you’ve been struggling with while breaking you through your fat loss plateau. Included in the program is 16 unique workouts, training logs, audio interviews, checklists. Click here for more information on Final Phase Fat Loss.

Turbulence Training – Craig Ballantyne provides outstanding monthly workouts and a “Simple Nutrition” plan to help you meet your fat loss goals. Turbulence Training takes your focus away from cardio and shifts it to high intensity interval training. Lots of extras with this program. Click here for more information on Turbulence Training.

Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle – Tom Venuto teaches you how to lose fat permanently without wrecking your metabolism, using drugs, or using supplements. Nutrition guide, strength training workouts, and 10 expert audio interviews included. Click here for more information about Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle.

Easy Veggie Meal Plans – For those of you who are vegetarians or who would like to rely less on animal products for nutrition, Kardena Pauza takes the confusion out of vegetarian diets and shows you how to lose belly fat by following simple, easy, and budget-friendly veggie meal plans, without sacrificing your health, wallet, or waistline to pre-packaged high-sodium processed foods or relying on dairy products for every meal. Click here for more information about Easy Veggie Meal Plans.

Eat Stop Eat – For those of you who actually enjoyed the fasting portion of XFLD, Brad Pilon talks about all the ways intermittent fasting actually promotes health, balances your insulin levels, and promotes muscle growth and fat loss. Brad also guides you on how to work intermittent fasting into your life to meet your fat loss goals. A VERY interesting read. Click here for more information about Eat Stop Eat.

Ultimate Home Workouts – Susan Campbell makes losing fat at home easy and affordable by providing 12 weeks of fat blasting and strength building workouts you can do right in the comfort of your own home with little or no equipment. Program also comes with a nutrition guide, fat loss secrets audio, 10 minute express workouts for when you are short on time, and a success journal. No more wasting time and money at the overcrowded, overpriced gym. Click here for more information about Ultimate Home Workouts.

So, I’m not sure right now which program(s) I am going to switch to. I do know I will continue to workout at home.

Angela, What’s IF and ESE?

I bought Turbulence Training aver a year ago but didn’t try the workouts till earlier this year. When I finally tried them, even though I started with the beginning workouts, I think they were still too tough for me and I had a lot of lower back back (I have very weak abs). They’re finally getting stronger with XFLD! I moved up to the intermediate workouts before I quit but my trainer said some workouts are not meant for everybody so I don’t know if I will go back to those.

I bought Isabel’s Diet Solution and it seemed harder than Joels’ Xtreme Diet only because at the time it was something that I wasn’t used to. I was used to eating 3 main meals and two small snacks like a piece of fruit or yogurt. Also, then I didn’t want to cut out cereal or yogurt completely from my diet. After doing Joel’s Xtreme Fat Loss Diet, I might consider going back to Isabel’s.

Since I also bought Joel’s Cheat Your Way Thin (CYWT) program, I was thinking of transitioning into that first before going back to Isabel’s. I do like CYWT because one day a week you can splurge and you know that you’re helping yourself lose weight!

There is also Vince Del Monte’s Your Six Pack Quest or Vince Del Monte’s No Nonsense Muscle Building (there is a version for women). Both of these programs come with a ton of audio’s, meal plan’s for the different calorie requirement (from 1200-3000) or something like that, and workouts for a good while.

I am really leaning towards first going t CYWT, and then maybe picking up Vince’s Six Pack Quest. I like the no nonsense muscle building because it comes with upside down training but maybe I can pick that up with Your Six Pack Quest!

About my diet for today, on day 19 mod carb day also. Had a great breakfast with less oatmeal today and more fruit. A nectarine, a handful of grapes and a kiwi along with the oatmeal with cinnamon and protein powder. I picked up some stevia and added a drop of that! Awesome stuff!
After the morning gym workout (I think the Dynamic workout is my fav also. I was sweating all over the gym this morning! A little gross but it felt good!) I had a big bowl of Lentils that I made last night with potatoes, carrots, green pepper, and onion. I just ate the carrots and lentils and left the potatoes in the pressure cooker for my husband to eat along with the chorizo! They were delicious!

After my class, I just had Salmon with the grilled veggies (zucchini, red pepper, celery, and carrots). I put some of my Italian spices on them and they were great!

I am planning on having some chicken later and maybe the other half of the samon (since I only get 18g per meal) and some grilled asparagus! Yumm!

Results: Yesterday I weighed myself at the gym and I have lost 3 kilos so about 6 lbs! And there’s still 6 days to go! Getting very excited!

Awesome results, Kristin! Keep it up through the last cycle. Push hard and commit to yourself 100%!

IF is intermittent fasting and ESE is Eat Stop Eat. Brad Pilon teaches you all about intermittent fasting in his ebook Eat Stop Eat.

Susan, have you seen Martin Berkhan’s blog, Leangains? He is also a proponent for IF and recommends ESE, but his is a shorter fast every 24 hours. And he’s maintained single digit bodyfat since starting this a couple of years ago. Very interesting stuff.
